Conor has provided unparalleled criminal defense services to individuals facing the most serious criminal allegations in federal and state courts in Oregon since 2006. After graduating cum laude from University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly Hastings), Conor began his career as a state public defender. Distinguishing himself early on for his tireless work ethic, fierce advocacy, and confidence in the courtroom, Conor excelled representing clients charged with major felonies while stringing victories together, including winning 9 of 11 trials before juries in a year-long period. With his reputation growing, Conor became the youngest attorney in Oregon selected to serve as lead counsel for individuals facing the death penalty. Conor became head of the state public defender’s death penalty unit, representing clients charged with aggravated murder around the State of Oregon. Conor tried five aggravated murder cases to a jury—three of his clients were acquitted of aggravated murder, and the other two had their convictions overturned on appeal due to legal errors Conor identified and preserved at trial.
In 2017, Conor left his state court practice and joined the prestigious Federal Public Defender for the District of Oregon. At the federal public defender, Conor excelled again, getting cases dismissed after tireless investigation and legal work, obtaining probation sentences for clients facing decades in prison, and handling some of the most complicated and high-profile cases in the state, including serving as lead counsel for the lead defendant in the largest fraud case in the history of Oregon. For his excellence in the courtroom, Conor was named the office’s “Senior Litigator,” an honorific given to the attorney tasked with leading the office’s litigation strategy and upholding its high standards.
Known as one of the preeminent trial attorneys in Oregon, Conor frequently trains other attorneys on courtroom advocacy, including annually at Oregon’s Trial Skills College. Conor is often selected as a speaker at events around the state.
Adored by his clients for his dedication and compassion, Conor is also respected by judges and prosecutors who appreciate his straight-forward manner and integrity.
Whether you need the most effective courtroom advocate, a legal scholar who can dissect the government’s case, or a negotiator with the reputation and respect to achieve the best possible outcome, Conor is ready to assist.
